Today was a pretty full day, all things considered.

At Maddy's Girl Scout meeting this afternoon, she and her friends of Troop 10075 made their presentation on how they needed to earn The Bronze Award. Each girl chooses a service project that can help the local area. The girls do this all on their own (we can cheerlead, but not "do"). This bronze award is a high achievement for girlscouts at the Junior level. Only a small percentage of the troops at this age are able to complete the requirements. Keep and eye out and I will fill you all in on what Maddy chooses to do. I am sure she will be posting here on how y'all can help her!

After their presentation, badges were given to those who had earned them. Sage (Maddy's good friend) gave MAddy her badges. Maddy earned quite a few... which means I have to iron them on and sew them down... WHat you ar witnessing here is the Girl Scout Hand Shake.... Remember that from when you were little? Watching this brought back memories.

As you may ave read in my last post, my fabulous, incredible, super-awesome watermelon mohair will NOT work for my Hanna sweater. So, I sadly pulled it out (after knitting a billion swatches), and threw it harshly onto the ground with much hysteria. Then I searched the house for a yarn that may work up well into my lovely Love Me or Leaf Me Carpet Bag. I rummaged through my stash (which, seriously, if the world's supply of yarn ran out tomorrow, I could knit for the next 3 years), and found this incredible blue cotton. Because it is dark out, this photographed lighter in color than it really is. I will venture out tomorrow and snap another photo so you can see how gorgeous the color really is. It is a thin cotton, so where the pattern called for 2 strands os a medium weight on a size 10 1/2 needle, I used 3 strands on a size 10. In the pattern, Karen wrote that gauge didn't matter, so I knit a few swatches and chose a combination that gave me a good outcome. When I started it, Kevin asked "Hon, do you REALLY need another bag? REALLY?" to that I answered "Yes." and walked away with a big giggle on my face. While I was casting on I tried to think of a reason I needed another bag.

Finally, around row 12, the purpose of my carpet bag struck me... It is quite large... Once finished it will be the home of my 12x12 plastic scrapbook box to hold my quilt squares in progress, along with my patterns in progress. YAY! See how that all works out?

HEHE! This really has nothing to do with anything... It's a picture form this past fall when Kevin was away on a business trip. Token was pouting. Sometimes he can get so tempermental. lol! I just came across this picture on my desktop, and it cracked me up, so I had to share....

See! There's always room for another bag as you can see from my blog yesterday. Sometimes a girl just HAS to have something new to carry. And it sounds like you found a GREAT purpose for your Leaf Me bag! Hope you have a wonderful week. :)
